Thread: White Bad are running?

White Bass

Read a few reports that had minimal detail about catching white bass. I'm in the Austin area and I'd love some tips on where to go or what to use for targeting them. I'm new to TX so any help would be great.

Me either, only time I catch them is after the spawn for crappie is done I will go spoon jigging in a spot where I catch White Bass, Black Bass, Crappie, and even some fresh water drum as well as Yellow Bass which are good eating. The White bass are just okay if you cut all the red meat out so I don't keep them. They are fun to catch though!
i should also say I know nothing about the lakes in your area. I do my jigging in water like 30' deep or so, but that is in May or June. I have talked to guys that say they catch them way in the backs of creeks for the spawn.
