Thanks for the report Scott.
I finally got out to the lake. School, work and family have been keeping me home for the last month. I almost had to check in to a clinic.
Anyway, we found a few on Sunday stacked up on a big tree at the edge of the channel. caught a few dinks and some good ones as well. Had a couple in the 14-15 inch range. We should have had about 10 or so nice slabzillas but of course, I can't get them into the boat once I get them to the top so we gave a few back to the fish gods.
All in all, not bad for not being on the lake for over a month and trying some new areas. I think I learned enough to say that we found a pattern and we also eliminated a lot of areas that had held fish in the past. the lake is so low I couldn't get to some areas that I wanted.
I might get back out again on Sunday...no promises though....smedley

Thanks for the report Scott.
Looks like I'm going shopping this Sunday. I opened my big mouth again and am being punished I guess. The wifey asked if I wanted to go to Sam's with her, and my next sentence is what got me...."Just depends, what's the weather supposed to be like?" "Why does that matter for going to Sam's", she asked. "It doesn't, but it does matter for going fishing." The words weren't even all the way off the tip of my tongue before I started tasting toe jam.
the weather is supposed to be nasty anyway...rain and wind.
How have you been Phillip?
Scott
Things are going fine. Just work and school. That is getting old quick. I need a fishing break. I will probably go in the next week or so.
Dont' feel too bad Scott. At least you got out one day. The only fish fix I have had in the last month was last weekend I took my kiddos down behind the house and caught some bodacious blue gill. They were all hogs, at least as long as my pinky finger. LOL, I am hoping to go thanksgiving weekend.
Larry,
Need I remind you that you now live less than 10 minutes (more like 5) from just about every boat ramp on the lake? What is your problem? Can't remember how to get there? I bet the deck in your boat are starting to dryrot.
I'm going to try and go sunday
Scott
Yep, but I am no where near settled in and I head to Camp Bullis next week. Like you, between moving, school and work I just hadn't had time. Later, Larry
I used to fish some on Belton when stationed at Hood. Now my son is Stationed there i guess i need to come visit and the two of us fish it while im there.
Is there any fish in Stillhouse lake?
Scott, believe it or not, I was in the field two weeks ago also. Training up some of our rookies trying to get them ready for deployment. I will be back next Saturday.
