Youngest daughter, wife, and myself in our boat, oldest daughter, son in law, and friend in there boat. I new we would get checked by GW on busy holiday. No biggie we are always legit. Anyway son in law got checked 2 times while we are sitting 20 feet away. GW asked me if we had any fish I said yes and he drove off. Had to laugh when son in law says what the heck he didn't even look at your fish or check anything. So I said they know the guide boat is always good to go. Had to be there but it was funny ribbing son in law. Ok so we did catch some nice fish. I kept 23 and son in law kept 50 as they needed some for freezer. Pic of ours and memory for life of the fun we had.

Nice mess for sure and sounds like a great time on the water! Congrats!

i went night fishing and got a hand full of nice crappie so at least the real nice size ones hit, but caught more Yellow Bass and did also get 3 channel cats.

talk about a fireworks show, we had people shooting off the big stuff 360 degrees all around us.

Skip, we stayed till after dark also to watch the fireworks. It was cool watching fireworks all around the lake from the boat.

Glad you got into some fish pccurr. Been here since Wednesday night and haven't caught a mess yet. I haven't crappie fished much in the summer time, and I'm fairly new to Rayburn and know I haven't paid my dues yet, but this weekend has been ridiculously bad for me. The piles I've caught fish on three weeks ago are now full of bream, and standing timber isn't producing for me either. Have been up the Attoyac fishing piles along the channel, north to Hank's creek on standing timber, south to the Black Forrest on standing timber, piles on the main lake north of the bridge, piles around the Canyons, timber from the Canyons to Deer Stand, water depths anywhere from 17' to 40', nothing. I've convinced myself that I'm going to look into hiring a guide for a learning trip because this summer time stuff is whipping my butt!

Lonestar, I am fishing from veach down to mill creek. The south end seems to do better in the dog days by holding fish on brush piles for me anyway. We are finding them in 30 feet of water 15 foot all the way to bottom. Bream are on top hard to get down past them but if bream are hitting fish deeper, if catching goo and cats move up a little, although the bigger fish are deepest and holding tight. Couldnt buy a bite on a jig on the 4th so shiners it was. Hope this helps. Sent you a PM.

Thanks Phil, I replied to the PM. I will give you a call later today or maybe tomorrow. I was wondering about heading on down further just to look around, I'm just hard headed and kept trying water up this way!

We did the same thing, actually on the 3rd and 4th. Was a real show as we went night fishing both nights and especially on the 4th we got quite a show, like you said over there it was a 360 degree show for several hours. Couldn't believe so many could put on such a large private show, but they did!
