I use the Pro Angler jiggin poles, don't have their dock shooter but I'm sure it is a goodun too! Any small spinning reel will work just fine for shootin.
A couple of years back my dad was down and we were pitchin jigs and catching shallow spawning fish. There was an old broken down dock close to where we were pitching jigs and as we came up to it I grabbed my dock shooter and skipped a tube jig way back under there and pulled out three on consecutive shoots. Dad had never done that before but after a few practice shots he was skippin jigs with his Zebco 33 like an old pro!
Shootin isn't hard to learn at all, it just takes some practice and you'll be amazed at how accurate you can actually be using this technique. Be careful though, a hook will go very deep into your finger if you are holding the jig wrong, hold the jig by the head with your thumb and forfinger and keep the hook pointed toward your target.
