Default Back from The Crappie Academy in Milam

I sure enjoyed the time at the Crappie Academy with Jared Roper and his Father Tommie, and also Todd Huckabee. I came away with lots of new information and they woke up some of the things I knew but wasn't using to it's fullest.
It was nice being able to be on the water and actually get hands on instructions. It was great being able to observe everyone also with their different techniques of fishing and boat control and seeing some new equipment.
I would recommend attending the Crappie Academy for those interested in seeing the different technics and being able to interact with the Pro's and all of the other fishermen. They will take time to answer your questions.
Go ahead and sign up early when they have their postings.

    In My Humble Opinion,

Hi Ferdi, thanks for the report. It was to late to attend when I saw the date, place and time. I failed to watch for it on CDC. Oh well, maybe next time. Did you bring your own boat? I fish that area often and I am sure it is a good place to have a class. Is big Sam coming up? We had some real good rains here. River is up and the White Bass and White Perch are bitting in the river.
    Take care, J.A.

I didn't take my pontoon over there, I hitched a ride with other folks, I will be taking the pontoon and wife over there and doing some fishing though. I am going to whine after the truck is paid off this fall and try to get something like the two War Eagles I seen at the Academy, they were nice.
If you have an empty seat sometime when you're going over there give me a holler and I'll meet up with you. Our water is up almost 4 feet from Nov 29th. The guides are taking numbers pretty much but I am still looking, my spots are too shallow but they may run in and spawn and pull out quick. I am going to do some fishing the week of the 22nd and see if I do any good.
Getting eye surgery the 1st of March and don't know yet how long I'll be out of commission but plan to be back quick.
    Later, Ferdi aka Fred

    Ferdi,

Hows the water over there after all the rain we've gotten lately?

It has come up about 4 feet, the same as here on Rayburn. Lots of stumps when you get slightly out of the boat lanes but it is looking good. Ferdi aka Fred

Rain should be here this next few days and according to the Lake site the water is on a steady rise so it should be just around the corner. Hope we get a few more feet of water this spring and bring it close to normal pool. I guess we will settle on what ever we get though won't we? Good fishing to all. Ferdi aka Fred
