You will first need to download "Atomic Web Browser" from the itunes app store...(I use the paid version...not sure if this works for the free version)...

Atomic web browser has an adblock feature....

    1. Open Atomic Web browser
    2. Go into the "Settings"
    3. Tap "Ad Block Settings"
    4. "Enable Ad Block" ---move to "On"
    5. Same page... Tap "Edit Ad Block Filters"
    6. The next page that opens is the list of Ad block URLs already in Atomic Web app....
    7. Tap "New Filter" at bottom left
    8. Copy and paste the following URL into the field... i](this is the URL that allows CC to show the blue Facebook login button at the the top of every CC page... Adding this filter basically blocks CC from loading the facebook button URL from loading onto the page)...[/i]
    http://www.crappie.com/crappie/image...ook_login.gif*
    9. Tap "Save"
    10. Back out of the app and open a CC page (or refresh the one you may have open)....the blue facebook login button should not load onto the CC page...

Repeat steps 1 thru 10 above with the following URL for the Atomic app to block.....i](this filter blocks the facebook "Like" button from loading onto the CC page under the CC "Reply to Thread" button in an open thread)...[/i]

The Di sonar in the HB Si units is a blend of both the left and right Si sonar:
*- take the right Si sonar and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
*- take the left Si sonar and flip it horizontally (mirror image) and then rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
*- overlay the two images and you have a Di sonar image.

    From Greg on another forum...

The AS-Si-DB-Y cable is just that: a cable. There is no switching from one transducer to another either within the cable or the unit.

When you use the AS-Si-DB-Y cable you are disconnecting the 2D portion of the Side Imaging transducer and connecting up the DualBeam transducer in its place. To the unit it all looks like one transducer. The 2D portion of the Side Imaging transducer no longer has an electrical connection to it and so does not operate.

From Greg in a different thread...

i]When you adjust any of the Sensitivity menus you are not turning up or down the power of the transmitter in the unit; rather you are telling the microprocessor in the unit to show more or less ‘stuff’ on the display of the unit. This ‘stuff’ can be returned sonar signals from fish, structure and the bottom. With enough adjustment you can also influence the color that the unit will use to show these ‘sonar targets’.

Sensitivity menu – affects the 2D or conventional sonar only. This menu will adjust the 200kHz and 83kHz 2D sonar together. If you are using the “Quad Beam” setting for the Transducer Select menu, then this menu will also adjust the 455kHz sonar returns from the Side Beams of the QuadraBeam transducer [Note: the Side Beams of this transducer and its sonar are different than the Side Imaging Beams of the CSi transducer].

83kHz Sensitivity – affects only the 83kHz 2D sonar and is used to balance the sonar returns from the wider 83kHz sonar versus the narrower 200kHz sonar. This is why the settings for this menu run from -10 to +10. If you don’t think that the 83kHz sonar is showing enough sonar returns, or you think that these sonar returns are being shown with a strong enough color; then set this menu to a higher setting.

455kHz Sensitivity – affects only the 455kHz Side Beam sonar returns (only accessible when the Transducer Select menu is set to the “Quad Beam” menu setting which is used when the unit is connected to a QuadraBeam transducer) that are shown when viewing the Side Beam View on the unit. The settings for this menu run from -10 to +10 as well.

SI Sensitivity – affects only the sonar returns that are displayed in the Side Imaging View or any of the combo views that are showing the Si sonar. On those units (not the 798’s) that can use more than one Si sonar frequency; this menu will change the sensitivity level of whichever Si sonar frequency has been selected in the Side View Frequency menu.

Down Sensitivity – affects only the sonar returns that are displayed in the Down Imaging View or any of the combo views that are showing the Di sonar. On those units (not the 798’s) that can use more than one Si/Di sonar frequency; this menu will change the sensitivity level of whichever sonar frequency has been selected in the Side View Frequency menu.

Where you set the sensitivity menu? This is a user preference setting and will vary from one person to another. Don’t think you are seeing enough stuff or if you want to see every sonar return no matter how small? Than turn the appropriate sensitivity menu up. Think you are seeing sonar returns from small fish and waterborne debris? Than turn down the appropriate sensitivity menu. Many use the Si and Di sensitivity menus as a contrast control, while some ‘old school’ flasher users will set the 2D sensitivity menus so that they can just barely see a second sonar return.[/i]

Here is the HB test plotted differences in the AS GR16 vs the AS GR50..

    img]http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e6/imonem/HBGPSAccuracy.jpg[/img]

Here is the 24 Plotted Positions of fixed mounted receiver, Notice how much better accuracy the GR-50 is over the previous receivers, This is the 95% Garmin Test that shows the new receivers 95% of the within 2.5 Meters of reporting the same exact location. Civilian satellite has improved but hardware and restrictions to hardware still exists. The better you are with marking the initial location the easier it will be to return, time after time.

Here is the HB test plotted with the discontinued AS GRHA...(If you find one for sale...you better buy it...

I have to give Doug Vahrenberg some credit here...

He has a wealth of information on bbc about the HB units..
