Skullin and catchin West Sandy
Been at lake for a few days. Been runnin chain saw and cleaning debris from around lake. All sorts of crap get washed up in the stakes and along the shoreline.
Didn't take new boat as I knew not not to ifin I was gonna get some work done.
I got the Jon boat out yesterday afternoon. Well, the Eagle sonar took as dump on me (no depth reading) and the battery lasted about 30 minutes. These things did not discourage me whatsoever. I just moved to the back of the boat and let my wife set up front and commenced sculling.
It is hard to scull a boat with someone in the front of the boat and an engine on the rear. I did this for a few hours. Wore me out, but we managed to pick up a few fish.
The bite was so slight, we just used bobbers and watched the move sidewards a little. Kinda hard to titline and skull a boat.
The water temp was 51-53 degrees and we caught most fishes in 10 to 12 foot range in West Sandy. I don't venture out on the main lake in my little Jon boat anymore. Fish ain't really turned on much yet after the cold snap.
We came on home as most you know my wife has lots of surgeries (eyes and back) coming up starting tomorrow. Lots of trips to the drs coming up, so I will miss a lot of spring fishing. She is more important anyway.
Here is a pic of fish I caught scullin. Eaters for sure.
My body is sore all over.:o
