Well, a friend and I finally got a time we could fish together. He has been telling me of his adventures fishing just below Chickamauga Damn for smallies and drum. We went out in his boat and with his gear. Kinda like a free to me guide trip . It was a beautiful day. Lots of sun and warm. It was so nice I would have been happy being there with a skunk. . Fortunately, the skunk stayed away. Now as an aged fellow I have been fortunate to have caught several freshwater species in my life, but I have never caught a smallmouth . caught 2 yesterday. . I have caught caught a drum from time to time but never of the large variety. Caught 2 yesterday with a guessed weight from 3 to 15 lbs. (his weight scale was on the fritz). I do know a couple of his and one of mine would barely fit in the net and pulling the loaded net into the boat was a two hand job!.

Now, to be honest, it was fun but it will not be something that stops my crappies enthusiasm. It was a nice change and fun to feel the heavy tug and fun to have to work the heavy things to the boat. Lots of play time! My first time using a Ned Rig. about 3 hours on the water made me want more! This will be something I will do from time to time.
