Default Chickamauga 3/12/24 Fishing with Granddaughter

WE had a absolute blast together today! I got to take my youngest granddaughter out with me today, she is on spring break. We charged up with a cinnamon roll breakfast. Then off to the lake. Another beautiful March morning. No breeze to speak of in the creek this morning but air temp in the upper 30's, she handled it well. Water temps rising in the creek 58 degrees this morning. Left the ramp trolling with no results. We made a move further up the creek and set out our lines. Wasn't long before our first fish was on.

Granddaughter jumped in action. She managed that 12' pole well reeling in her first fish of the day, the first of many this day. I was in instructor mode today passing along what will hopefully be a life long desire for the outdoors. I handed her the "clicker". We weren't fishing for keepers today, I already had fish in a cooler at home to clean later, so we were just fishing. When all was said and done we had boated 20 according to the count keeper. But the smiles and giggles were much more precious and numerous. With a recharging nap on the way home. She helped with cleaning the fish I had in the cooler, with the curiosity of a 9 yo, asking questions and poking the fishes' eyes' sayin "their squishy", she has a little weirdness at times she get's that from her mom I'm positive. Said a little prayer on the way home, thanking the Father for this wonderful day with my sidekick. My heart is full today.

'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

Lol, my 9 yr old daughter does the same thing with touching eyeballs and saying squishy. They always want to touch the fish when I bring them home. Good times, good memories.
