    Default March trip

Dale Hollow suggestion's. Was thinking about taking a trip down to Eastport marina on the Obey River and do some crappie fishing for several days. I have never been on this part of the lake as I have fished the wolf river arm all of my trips. There is a lot more lodging in this area especially in the earlier parts of spring as most places on wolf river do not open until April. Are both east and west arms about the same for crappie fishing. I do a lot of spider rigging but like to cork and jig fish as well. I know lake needs to be a lot higher than it is now looking at map. Mother nature will make that call for me. Any help appreciated.

Sorry for the no response. I would look on this page about Dale Hollow. There have been several previous posts. I look on Youtube sometimes to find info on an area. I know BrushPile TV and Kent Driscoll did a couple of shows and were longlining or pulling planer boards. I think it was planer boards. I do not know anything about it and have never fished it. Good luck.

Might want to holler at Alphahawk on this one. He has lots of experience at Dale Hollow, especially at Kemper Flats.

I fish the Obey out of Eastport several times a year, a group of us rent a big cabin and fish for a solid week in early April. Obey is shallow and very scenic I love it. We usually fish from East Port to Sunset which is all good crappie water. If you plan on March, call down to the new owners of East Port Marina and ask about the water depth, there ramp is in shallow water, but I believe you could launch anytime just might have to troll out to deeper water. You will catch white, black and stripe nose. Cabins at East Port are nice or pm me if your looking for a vrbo type place, I have a friend that has a great newer modular home that he rents out.
