Finally got some time off work to throw the boat in the water. Got to love a 4 stroke outboard. After a 7 month sleep she sprang to life at the turn of the key. It was a nice peaceful weekday trip. Water temp was 74 when I looked at the graph. Six shots in and I had a fish in the boat. It was a run a gun type of day. Just enough action to keep you going for more. Some slammed the bait. Some came up and gave just a hint something was not right. Setting the hook revealed a very light take. Hit several dock that were packed with Bluegills. My hot color for today was Blue Ice. Probably not because that is what the fish wanted, but because that is what I chose to throw. I was armed with three rods. All with Blue Ice. Slab HuntR, Baby Shad, and Itty Bit Slab HuntR were the different sizes. I did best on the Slab Huntr. I would say it's advantage was the heavier weight of the bait allowed it the skip deeper under the docks and pontoons. All in all it was a great day to be on the water. Took six home for supper.
