    Default Chattanooga next fall trip

Was planning. A trip to Chattanooga next September. The wife will be in a triathlon I will be fishing in boat. Was looking for campground advice. Found the Chester frost park or Hales bar. Both seem same distance from race. We have a truck camper boat and may bring another vehicle does anyone have opinion on either campground or lake? It’s about an 11 hour drive to get to this area for us. I have a Jon boat with a 25 or a deep V boat with a 115

I drove through Chester frost a few times and will be staying there in a couple of weeks. I think it is a nice campground. Another option is Harrison Bay State Park. I have fished both Nickajack and Chickamauga. I think either is a good choice fishing wise. Fishing below Nickajack dam can be great. I find the traffic to be more of a pain coming from the Hale’s bar area into Chattanooga depending on the time of day. If there is a specific question I can answer send me a PM. I will try to help you if I can.

Both are great areas to fish. I have not fished the Harrison Bay area. It is flat covered up when the bite is on.

I'd look at Skull Island camp ground. It's on the east side of lake.Very clean. Ramp is just around the corner.Access to 58 hwy is close to 153 and I-75.

All good suggestions. Chester Frost is a place I am very familiar with. Camped there many times over the years. I am not familiar with the triathlon thing so I don't know where they may be holding it. The fishing should be good no matter where you decide to camp. Good luck on both endeavors.

    Thanks for info
triathlon is near centered around I 24 bridge. Campgrounds have strange rules sometimes such as not wanting boats at sites or allowing truck campers. My truck camper is nicer and more expensive than many trailers. Parking the boat away from campsite invites theft and batteries can’t get charged. I lost $1500 in gear in Florida to thieves because they wanted boat parked in a rental slip
if I couldn’t take the boat camping I wouldn’t be camping. I’m refuse to stay in hotel or cabin anymore. My job brings me inside people’s houses and I see how they live I wouldn’t sleep in a bed after such people have.
I like how everything is same in camper no matter where it’s parked the dogs do too
I have only passed though the area on way to Florida. I figure if I’m driving this far go big and drive a little farther to Florida

Call Chester Frost. I have camped there with my boat several times. Been a while so calling may be best. I do know they make reservations now and the sites on the water are busy fast.
