    Default "Poor" fishing day

I try to use any edge I can find to learn what to expect the fishing to be like when I get the chance to go out. Like many others, I have a "fishing forecast app" that shows days and times for the best fishing. Now the days I go are decided by "when I can" more than what the app suggests,. I have gone out on "excellent" days and "poor" days. Watched the weather forecast for winds, and other things that may suggest good fishing days. I have had windy days that made it almost impossible to stay on a spot without working more than fishing, but caught fish.
I have gone out on "excellent" days and got skunked. Now this past Friday I got off work early and went out for a couple of hours. Was a "poor day" with winds from the North. While didn't catch a lot, I did catch 3. 2 crappie and a small bass. So as most would say the best day to fish is any day you can. Dock shooting was the most effective with blue ice. surface temp around 81 degrees.

Good job. For a couple of years I was “lucky” enough to go during supposedly best fishing day for the year and was darn near skunked both times. I just go when I can and don’t worry about it.

Nice!! I am of the mindset that you can’t catch anything if you don’t go and I go when I can "Poor" fishing day

Yes, the best time to fish is when you can. At least you didn’t get skunked.
