When the thump calls you gotta go. Good job and nice catches.
Well after a long time I finally got the oppertunity yo get out again. Now mind you I usually stay away from the water on summer holidays but ...well you know, when you gotta go you gotta go
Hit the water just after daybreak and a nice morning it was. A light to calm breeze and temps around 70. I figured I would fish a while in a little cove and stay away from the party areas.
Had to wait on a couple of bass guys to vacant the area then I moved in. Water temp was about 80 degrees and the hydrilla was in full force in the shallows. I managed to pull two shorts from the edge of in before the sun got high and hot. things shut down so I decided to shoot some docks before quitting. I hit a dock that was in 30 feet of water and quickly got a hit on what felt like a good crappie. But it decided not to join me. Then a small bass said hi and we laughed and went on our separate ways. Not long after a heavy crappie committed to taking my jig (blue ice seemed to be the choice of the day). It felt like the one that got away the first time. Well, the 11 inch guy bent my crappie stick well and was as feisty as on could ask. After a short visit he went back home. After several trips of one and done I was glad to have a slightly larger number of fish over the rail. All in all I decided it was a good day
