Cool Newbie to Crappie.com - Olraisin

I have viewed the site before so I finally decided to join so I can improve my catch ability. I live in Memphis, TN and mainly fish the Mississippi River since it is so close to me. I started fishing for crappie when I was 10yo when "old man Marshall" took me to Tunica Cutoff to teach me how to fish. Tomorrow is my 74th birthday so I have been at it for a long time. Everywhere I was stationed in the Marines, I would also look for a good crappie hole. I do manage to go to Arkabutlar, Tunica Cutoff, Sardis and Enid down in Mississippi as my other fishing spots. I am working on my gig fishing ability but will drown a minnow if all else fails.

I have a Tracker 175 TXW w/75hp Merc that I purchased in 2009 that has served me well. I have upgraded it with 2 Garmin UHD 93sv Livescope, Motorguide X3i and Fishing Specialties setup for my transducer. My granddaughter has claimed it as her boat whenever i decide to get another one. My main rigs are ACC Crappie Stixs of various lengths (8 of them so far). I'm looking foward to getting better and reading the forums on this site

    Welcome from Horn Lake, MS.
I see you fish a lot of waters that I do.
I fish some at Bay Springs Lake, on the Tenn-Tombigee waterway, more like trying to learn to fish it.
Pickwick Lake is pretty good. Here is where you can fish with one of the 3 state's license. A lot of people side pull at different locations of the lake. I've fished Yellow creek and Bear creek a few times.

Dam Crappie Warriers meet at Arkabutla about once per month on a Thursday for a fresh cooked lunch. They ask for a donation to be there.
