One dink better than the skunk.
Well I made it to the Hiwassee. was running low on gas. I now know my 3 gallon tank will get me there and back. will need a bit more to explore the area. Only caught one dink but kept skunk away.

Was nice getting out to a new area. Two bass tourneys going on. One out of Chattanooga, one out of Knoxville. Got to see several different wildlife also and a nice fellow fishing the bass tourney in a yack. A curious beaver watched us, a bald eagle flying overhead and what I think was an Osprey nest with maybe two birds on in. Way too high and far away to make out for sure, plus these old eyes just don't always see details like they use to.
I fished some reeds and did some practice with my bait caster. I am thinking I will be making this trip more in the future.
If anyone can identify these birds, please do so.

Distinct markings of an Osprey. A really neat bird. Sounds like you enjoyed a great day

I hope sometime in the future you are fortunate enough to be on the water in the right spot and get the pleasure of seeing an Osprey hit the water in a dive to come up with a fish. They hit the water hard and often fully submerge to be able to catch a fish. First time you get to see it you will be impressed . You are in the correct neighborhood on the lake with the nest nearby.
Might Google Osprey to learn about them .
Good Luck
One other small bit of information is when they catch a fish and fly they will always position the fish with his head facing forward. Only one of many interesting things about them.
