The flat was 15 feet deep and all the fish were very near the bottom. We would occasionally hook a stump and if we could pop the jig off without breaking the line, a crappie would almost immediately hit the jig. The fish would bite any color this morning, I stayed with MoGlo Outlaw Special Slab Slayer and Gary stayed with BG baby Shad in blue Thunder and bluegrass. We kept the boat in 22-23 feet of water right along the drop off into 40 feet of water.

After the crappie bite died there must have been a school of yellow bass move in and they aggravated us to pieces until we finally figured out how to get them to commit to our jigs. We shortened the plastics just a little bite and that did the trick. We quit a little after eleven.
