I’m about through with tailwater fishing I think. It has been a very good spring so far, but this is a crappie report and crappie fishing is my love. I didn’t have a clue about what the crappie were doing and I was taking my granddaughter’s husband and his Father on a fishing trip. Pressure, huh?

I still found the fish scattered and not in a feeding mood. I only managed to land 3 keepers, but all 12” or more and we landed 2 short crappie too. But we also caught about 3 bass and my drum and Robert caught a yellow bass. It was Damien’s first fishing trip in many years and his Dad is just trying to learn how to fish. We had a good time in spite of tough conditions.

Fish were caught on Bobby Garland new Mayfly plastic lure and the fish seemed to like them. Blue Ice was best and I caught a couple on the Mayfly color as well. Water temp was 80 when we finished at 11:30 am.

All three of my keepers looked like twins. I hope that I didn’t repeat a pic.
