MGoBlue said that the forum has been quite lately and I guess the reason is because deer season has a lot of crappie fishermen in deer stands instead of fishing tree tops. Grin. He posted a great Walleye report, so I’ll post what we have done this past week in 3 trips to tailwaters.
Dr Phillip G and I fished 3 hours per day on 3 trips and had great success. Current flow has been over 46K cfs and water surface temps hovering around 54 degrees. Perfect temps for Striped bass, White bass, and Walleyes are hot right now. We don’t target walleyes, but we catch them anyway on our swim baits.
We landed 61 Stripers, 31 White bass and 11 walleyes on our trips. Limit on Stripers are 2 per person in Tennessee, so we kept the smaller 5-7 pound fish for the freezer and released all the others. We did keep the walleyes and a few of the white bass. I cleaned 3 whites yesterday and the smallest was 2.2 pounds and the other two were 2.9 each. Pigs.
Lots of people trolling for walleyes and nobody fishing for Stripers. The biggest Striper so far has been 15.5 pounds. I’ll post a couple of pics.
