Dr Phillip and I took our friend Randy fishing with us again this morning and had a great day of catching quality crappie topped by a 14” TARP black and no keepers under 11”. Three short crappie, 7 yellow bass and one nice 18.25” Largemouth bass completed our catch.

All fish were over 20 feet deep and were caught on 3/32 oz jigs with Bobby Garland plastics and the fish bit several different colors. Water temp was down to 85.5 with all the rain that we have had the last 24 hours and tva flowing 14,000 cfs. We fish along the man river drops to locate and catch our fish.

I kept 4 of the yellow bass to eat tonight and I noticed something about them that I never saw before. Underneath their lower jaw was colored up with a beautiful lavender color. I hope that you can tell by the pics. The pics doesn’t do them justice. I had never paid attention to that before. They were schooling near where we were crappie fishing and we had fun with them for a few minutes.

We had 17 keepers and quit fishing at 9:30 am.
