    What's happening on the lake?
Wanting some reports of where the bite is.
Got a storage building to plan, may get in the way of fishing.
That building may have to wait till later.

If no luck saturday and sunday mornings. I'll have the tube with me to make the boys happy.
Just have to unload fishing gear so they won't need a lic. with me.

We were on the lake just after daybreak saturday.
Launch at Elm Hill, picked up a few minnows, then
headed up and across the lake.
Marked lots of fish, but no takers. Did
manage 1 small cat into the boat.

We did come across a poor sole that had a hook in a finger.
Just to the point of turning white.
I asked how the fishing was? "could be better if this hook wasn't in my hand."
I gave him a med. towellette, spread some onitment on it and told him I was going to remove it on the count of 3. 2 never got there.
I invited him to our site, said he'd check us out.

Sunday morning we launched at Hamilton creek. Marked fish at 10 to 24 foot deep in 25 foot of water. Those little yellow bass give you a good fight.
    Ended the morning with 7.

Nice lake you have there, first time for me. Plan to be back.

Good to hear your report.Sorry about the guy with a hook in his hand.I didnt even get out on the lake to fish any this weekend.Think me and the boy spent alot of time behind the house at the pond shooting geese in the morning and then going back in the evening for dove.We was going to get out on the lake Monday morning but never made it out of bed to do that.

Well I've lived by Priest Lake for over 4 years and Labor Day Weekend was the first time I had been out on it. It's gorgeous although a lot of the trees are dead from the drought. The fish weren't cooperating very much. I didn't even get a bite on Saturday, but found a mess of yellow bass on Sunday. Lots of fertilizer for the flowerbeds. Can't wait to go out again.

    cane-
did you use the trick that Bill Dance once showed on how to remove a hook?
Deaden it first with ice, if your lucky enough to have it. Then take the heaviest line you have, make a loop and put over the bend in the hook. Push down on eye to get the barb up and going in the right direction. Count like you did and yank like your trying to pull start my 175.
Real fun when you have to do it by yourself. It is rough when you know what the count is going to be!!!!!
