you did good. you were out there! thanks for sharing. I have never put in a 58 bridge, just went and looked at it once. It appeared to me that the dock sat up too high. Long way backing up.
Decided to give some of my good ol' deep spots on the Hiwassee a shot yesterday. Put on sunscreen and put in around 9am on the south side of the 58 bridge. Noticed that they are FINALLY replacing that death-trap-dock there at the ramp
Water temp was 75* and somewhat stained. No current to speak of. BG monkey milk on 3/32 was all that was thrown today. Fished in 20' + most of the day in the main lake for all but the last hour, then I finally decided to seek out some shallower brush. Ended up with more toothy-critters than I did slabs, all from the deep stuff. 2 keeper walleye and 1 line-scraper that I turned back in for next year. 2 keeper crappie and several shorts, they all came from around 10' on brush.
I'm getting to where I SUCK at crappie fishing. Kinda starting to remind me of golf - the more I did it, the worse I got
Ended up loading the boat around 130p due to whitecaps.

at that water temp it would be me to look in shorter water than 20 plus deep , likely find them stacked up on cover not far from traditional spawn areas is my thought .

I have been trying to catch walleyes down here in the lake but haven’t had any luck at all. But we fish for them the last hour of our planned trip. Biofisher and I landed 10 keeper crappie on Monday in 17-20 feet of water. I also had a tussle with a 5 lb 8 oz bluecat on 4 lb Nanofil line. 10 minute battle. Grin. I need to fish the Hiwassee soon.
I enjoyed your fishing report.

The Hiwassee River has been coughing up as many fish with teeth as it has crappie for me CONSISTENTLY over the past two years. My freezer bounty is skewed more to fish with teeth than those without teeth. I want to work further and further upstream as I think it may be even better up that way. Going to plan a scouting trip up that way soon.
Also wanting to find more deep stuff for crappie up that way, just to see if its my summer tactics that have declined in past few years, or if its just a decline in those few deep holes I've been fishing.
.....need to give my FULL MOON blacklight a workout. I know that'd be more productive but I just love my sleep too much
