Crap weather from 2 nights ago gave the gobblers lock-jaw, so decided to pull the rig down yesterday and check and see if the pattern had changed any in the past few days.

Put in at 58 around 10am and back on the trailer at 430pm. Started out with a toboggan and ended up in shorts, no shirt, and a sunburn.

Water continues to rise and isn't but a foot or so from summer pool. Was 60* when I put in and 68* in the very backs of sloughs. FISH HAVE DEFINITELY PULLED UP. If I was fishing in water 3ft or deeper, I wasn't getting a sniff. 2-1/2' was the magic number. Pattern was highly repeatable as 3 different sloughs fished identically.

Wind out of the N at 10-15 kept the drift going good, but wind died around 345p, and so did the bite Dragging 4 double drops under slip corks, same as Sundays report. And again, anything with chartreuse got bit, and anything without chartreuse DID NOT.

Ended up with 6 in the livewell, 3 whites and 3 blacks: 1@ 13", 2 over 12", and nothing under 11". Several shorts and 10-1/2" sent back. All still loaded with eggs (except the colored-up male mixed in with the 5 females).

Got an old friend coming to town early next week and will hopefully be able to keep him entertained

I saw the same results this evening
