Good pics. Looks like Debi had a fun time. I bet you get enticed to take them out again real soon. I'm sure you'd hate that.....lol
Cuonthelake and her friend Debi wanted to get in on a tailwaters trip before it was too late, so we made it happen this AM. We wanted to hook up a decent Striper and give Debi the experience of her life, but a small Striper was the biggest that we could muster.
But the Walleyes and White Bass more than made up for the lack of bigger Stripers. Debi had never fished before so our plan was to hook up the fish and pass the rod to her. That worked perfectly as I hooked into a good Walleye about 30 seconds into our first drift. The joy and excitement on her face when we netted the fish was worth the trip up there.
All together in two hours of fishing was 4 Walleyes, 3 White bass, and 3 Skipjacks in addition to the one Striper. 3 guide boats were up there fishing a different seam and they were hooking bigger Stripers on every drift. I would not bother them as it looked like they had paying clients. They were courteous and did not fish the seams that we were fishing. Low flow meant a very limited area to fish.
Candi did have a blackberry cobbler made that she gave me yesterday and a loaf of her homemade sourdough bread as an enticement to take them today. I would have taken them anyway but who could refuse a blackberry cobbler? Lots of pics.

Hey Drumking,
This report was slightly unusual for you…
Great report and great pictures are the norm .… What was not normal was the part of Candi out fishing you completely. I am very confident the next report will be more usual.
You are a very fortunate man getting cobbler and sourdough bread in addition to great company fishing.

Actually, I hooked up most of the fish and handed the rod to Candi’s friend, Debi, and let her reel in the fish. This was her first time to fish tailwaters. She was so excited to fight these fish. I was hoping to hook up a really big Striper and watch her struggle with it, but this 3 pounder gave a good fight in the slight current.
