Default Wind from the south... I think I'm going to have to call Bologna.

Put the boat in the water about 11:00 after the first major movement of the day. First minor movement wasn't much, checked a few places on my way out to the river. My first stop, first fish I stuck was about a 8 - 10 lb catfish, but of course you know it comes off at the boat, after fighting it down for 5 minutes on 6lb. line. Needless to say fiance was more than a little upset, she was looking forward to catfish dinner. We left there and went trolling some Creek channels finding shad balls along the way and what apparently was scattered fish about 10 ft down. We trolled through a bay looking for baitballs along the way, no luck with that search process either. After we tried tolling the bay it was about lunch time so we took time for lunch. After lunch first stop was on a bridge, took 2 shorts and a small spot. Checked a large dock and found fish under it, threw many baits at them with no luck. Headed back down river, one last stop we managed to find two keepers and some more small ones to play with at another stop before we headed back to the boat ramp around 6:30. Water temps were from 77 to 75 degrees, winds from the South at 5 - 10mph, and no matter how hard the wind blows, it actually doesn't blow the bait in the fish's mouth. I'm thinking that's a old wives tale. About the only thing you can get out of this report is where the fish aren't we fished from 10 ft of water to 25 ft of water, brush, docks, creek channels. Tried several different colors and weights from pearl white to chartreuse to black to just plain old green and a couple of natural colors for good measure, and then only way we could get bit was to tip with a minnow, on brush in 20' fow. Sure makes for a long day, but a relaxing one. Thank goodness Dockside Cafe has fried fish. Wind from the south... I think I'm going to have to call Bologna.

Just so it's known... I'm open to suggestions. Wind from the south... I think I'm going to have to call Bologna.
