Went "solo" last night. Fish are suspended in 25' of water near the river channel. Minnows under a white light. Fished from 8:30 PM to 12:00 PM. The bite was good, aggresive. Some fish didn't spawn out, had eggs still.

"Dude, where's my float?"
Thanks Dave - I really appreciate the information provided on Douglas and Cherokee. I did not get to go this weekend. Did a little trout fishing but that was it. I know you mentioned deep rock bluffs and river/creek channels on Douglas. I'll look for some around the Dandridge bridge. Were the fish suspended at 25' or was the water depth 25' and the fish were somewhere in between? I have a friend that fishes Douglas pretty often. He doesn't go in June and July due to boat traffic. But he swears by lead core line and crankbaits in August and September trolled at 28' deep or so. That's a little unusual for me. But I guess with the clear water 25'+ is not that unusual for this area. Any thoughts? I may get a chance to come down within the next few days. If I can get some during the day above the Dandridge bridge trolling during daylight hours it would be nice. But I'll hit them at night with live bait if that's what it takes right now.

Find 40' to 50' of water, preferably near a steep rocky bank and fish around 25' deep. You just need to find the fishes summer hangouts. I prefer deep main lake points and bluffs. Minnows are the bait of choice. Just my opion, I have always fished the same way.
