Hello Y'all...
I wanted to ask for advice and information on where I can wet a line in Murfreesboro TN? I will be a resident there along with my family, come this spring. I love to fish all types of species, with bait fishing being least preferred.
I prefer using artificials for Bass, walleyes, stripers, trout, panfish, catfish, spinning, BC, light power to heavy...
Looking forward to recommendations and your reply.
Thanks in advance.

There are fishing spots near Murfreesboro too numerous to mention and most are very crowded on the weekends. A few of my favorites are Normandy, Woods, Nickajack (above and below dam), and below the dam at Old Hickory. If you want volume then try Percy Priest. It is full of all kinds of fish but it also has all kinds of fools running their boats wide open right next to your fishing spots. If you can get out on a weekday then head for Normandy or Woods for Crappie. There are also small rivers to float such as East Fork of the Stones and the Duck River.
Thank you kindly...I have also spoken a couple of times in detail with a near lifelong resident of Murfreesboro, and he has shared much of the same information as you have. Thank you and I look forward to partaking and being blessed to fish the wonderful waters of Tennessee!

Have you gotten to get out and fish? Where are your new favorites spots and how do you like the southern summers? HA!
I'll send you a PM...I have been very successful, especially on the Stones River both East and West Forks, and have caught several smallies at 18", a couple at 19", one 20" and a PB length-wise at 21" (Nice Mills). Last week during very high waters after a few days of sporadic heavy rains, I caught a 33" 8.5lb channel on a spinnerbait at Walter Hill Dam.
its been years since i've been to the Walter Hill Dam and Nice Mill. If you have a boat go to Jefferson Springs and cross the Stones River and fish the Bluffs directly across from the ramp. always something there. Great to hear you're fishing success. A 33" channel is a hoss!

I live in Murfreesboro but rarely ever fish locally. The Caney Fork has great trout fishing all year long. Also at Normandy....although it is only a winter trout fishery it will have some good trout. I am an avid UL angler and all I use is UL gear and 2-3 pound test line..but I do well at Nickajack on crappie...KY bass......redbreast....shell cracker....bluegill and Smallies as well. Check out my YouTube channel and you can see why I make the 81 mile one way drive several times a week. Plus check out the Normandy videos to see what you can catch there.

Alphahawk nailed it. Although Walter Hill and Nice Mill do offer good fishing at times, it will be worth the drive to visit Nickajack both above and below the dam. It is my favorite and hopefully we will get some rain Sunday that will keep the pleasure boaters away 'cause I will be there. There are several boat ramps from below the dam all the way to Chattanooga. The ramp at Marion County Park will put you in the thick of things. Also ck out Bennetts Lake a few miles up river. It can be fantastic at times. Below the dam can put you on catfish, white bass, and smallies.
