Great day!
I was sitting around the breakfast table this morning and needing a crappie fix badly and no one to go with. Then my phone rang and Jay W calling to see how I was doing. Fine but needing a fishing trip. He volunteered. Grin
We launched from Wolftever creek a little after 9 and scanned an offshore spot in Harrison Bay and it looked to have a few fish on it, but my mind was set on brush in Chester Frost Park so we went there first.
We caught 5 keepers and 25 short crappie on the brush, picked up another keeper under a dock in that bay and I wanted to check the lower end of Chickamauga lake. We hit 4 different spots with only 2 short crappie to show for it. I don’t know why I keep going to that part of the lake as it has been dead for 3-4 years with only one or two exceptions.
BY this time it was nearing the end of our trip so I scanned a couple more spots with little or no fish showing on graph, and decided to hit that first spot that we scanned this morning before we put the boat on the trailer. We landed our 5 biggest crappie in 15 minutes in 20 feet of water.
Nearly all of our fish were caught on Bass Assassin Albino Shad 2” Pro Tiny lures. This little bait is my favorite lure of all. I use other lures from different companies but I don’t have a sponsor and have to use their lures all the time. 😂
I gave away 10 bags of crappie to family two weeks ago, so I brought the 11 keepers home and they are on ice to be cleaned in the morning.
Great day!

Thanks for the trip. I was fun times for sure. We have been enjoying the muscadine jelly. The whole family loved it on some biscuits. It is delicious and a unique flavor.
I did not get a deer yesterday, but my partner did get a young tender looking buck. I did miss a coyote. I have a feeling better luck next time is what is in store for me.
