Default Random act of kindness. 8/25/20

Cuonthelake and I fished this am from 6:30 to 8:30. We found the fishing to be extremely slow for us. We hit 6 different spots and only caught one or two at 3 of the 6 spots. We saw fish in other spots but they would not take our offerings.

Since both of us had other things to do today, we decided to cut our trip short. We had 3 keepers in the well, and Candi beat me again 2 to 1 with the big fish at 13.5”. I had a 12” and she had another 10.5” keeper. I had one fish pull off or I might have tied her and I caught the only short fish of the day. Candi enforced one of my boat rules that says if you hook a fish and it pulls off before either of us gets to see it, then it is counted as a Drum. Lolol.

We were coming back into the ramp and saw an older black couple fishing from either side of the ramp. They were fishing for their dinner and had a few small bluegills in the bucket. I thought of Slab’s idea of a random act of kindness that we CDC folks should be doing this year so I asked them if they wanted the crappie that we had. They were thrilled.

We chatted them up when we got the boat on the trailer and found out that they had been married 51 years and they were so nice. We introduced ourselves to them and promised that if I saw them again and I was coming in with fish, that they could have them. Their last names were Payton. Terry was the gentleman and his wife’s name slips my mind at the moment.

Water temp at the beginning was 82.3 but rose quickly in other parts of the lake especially downstream of the Sequoia nuclear plant discharge. Slow current. Cloudy skies with light and variable wind. Fish were deep mostly. Candi did catch the first fish in about 12 feet of water.

The book of Matthew says to love thy neighbor, this world would be better place to live with a few more acts of kindness. Thank you Drumking and may God bless you both.

Good on you two! I for one believe in passing it along.
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

Sharing a catch with others is not just good for the others as it is also real good for you as well. Nice gesture and a big pat on the back for making the world a bit better...Kudos
