I took Cuonthelake fishing this morning and I got taken to school. I told you guys that she can out fish most of you but you probably don’t believe that she can. But she can. Lolol.
She caught the most crappie, two to one ratio, the only bass, and lost twice as many fish as I missed. She had the biggest crappie, right at 13” long. My biggest was only 12”. She hooked what she called a tank and there I was, standing at the ready with net in hand watching her rod bent over double and slowly gaining on the fish and it came within 10-15 feet of the boat and pulled off. I stopped my ears up because I didn’t want to hear what was coming next.
Most of this action occurred just at daylight and when it got bright outside, the fish shut up, so we quit fishing after two hours and put the boat on the trailer. It was a cool beautiful morning with wind coming from N to NE and the water temp surprised me at 82.5 degrees. Water flow at the beginning was around 12,000 cfs.
Candi had a Lights Out BG tied into a 3/32 oz jig and it was hot. If she had Litewire hooks instead of those old awful sickle hooks, she might not have lost any fish. When those Litewire hooks grab on, they hold on to the fish.
Curtis Hobbs, you get that eye healed up really fast. I’m running short of 3/32 oz jigs. Grin.
