I am a little late on this posting but I managed to work in a 2.5hr trip after work on Tuesday. I knew it was going to be a bit windy but I went anyway with the plan of using a drift sock to assist in boat control. My fear was that this sock would interfere with long line trolling but you know it really wasn't any issue at all. Although it did help a lot in the 7mph gusty wind, I found it needed a little more umph than what it had. So either I need a bigger sock or to add an additional sock to help keep the boat running straight. Anyone got any tips on this?
While looking for fish in the 10ft water depth where I caught them over the weekend, I found it wasnt working out. With the rain that recently came through I ended up finding fish suspended out in deeper 20ft+ water. Picked up 23 of them with 13 keeps before darkness fell. It appears lampreys are plentiful this year but I will take them anytime over the asian carp that are coming.
