...as most of you on here that read my stuff know, I LOVE chasing toothy-critters. Must be the little bit of yankee left in me, who knows.

Been watching the "WATTS BAR WILL BE SPILLING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE" banner on the website for what seemed like the last 20yrs. Last night at dinner with the wifey, I pulled the site and thought something was wrong with my phone...NO BANNER and generating less than 50K. With a weather forecast of overcast skies, light winds and 50*, the begging began. Perfect weather for winter walleye fishin'. Once she gave her graces to my request, got the batteries on charge and everything ready for a Sunday trip on the water.

Got up there at around 10am this morning and found the parking lot nearly empty. We got put in and ran up to the tailwater...noticed immediately that the weatherman LIED....WAS COLD and wind was blowing steady out of the west. Felt more like 25* Was running 46.5K through the dam and water was 46*

Not sure what was different about the way they were generating today, but the current seam was in a WAYYYY different place than I normally find up there. We lined up on it and threw 3/8oz - 1/2oz jigs upstream and drifted them through the seam. Was pretty productive

Was off the water by 12:45pm, with hands completely numb and livewell stacked like cord wood. I'm POSITIVE me and the pard could've rounded up both our limits if we'd stay. No need to get greedy.

4 of the 8 we brought home were LOADED with eggs. I'm still not sure they successfully rear in this water, but sure hoping so. This walleye fishery is starting to get REALLY GOOD. (PERSONAL NOTE TO SELF: Now that the freezer is loaded, start releasing the females and keeping only males)

Like grandpaw used to tell me when I was a kid, even a blind hog finds an acorn every now and again. Good Lord blessed us today
