    Default Barney Goes Fishing

No not the purple dinosaur if that is what you were thinking. Barney is a life long minnow dunker and has never fished any other technique for catching crappie. He showed interest in going with me today to attempt to catch his first crappie on a jig. I am not exactly sure what he thought when I showed him the three and a half inch bait we would be using but he was all in. These were verticle jigged in twenty to forty feet of water on a 3/16oz jig. We finished the day with 24 crappie caught and one keeper short of a limit. Nothing big today or much over eleven inches but that's ok. At least we were catching. I had promised his money back (which was zero) if not completely satisfied. He asked to go again sometime so I think showing him my favorite winter jig technique was an over all success. Nothing like getting your moneys worth!

Good deed. I tried all baits today. Nothing worked. I'll prob get out of the recliner and get in the boat tomorrow.
