Late start for the day, just being lazy. Had to put line on my new reel so I could try out my new B&M rod, a ML, fast tip. 6.5' worked out well for dock shooting. Which is what I ended up the day doing. Started on brush on a ledge, after about 45 minutes of tantalizing, terrorizing those non committals with only one short fish on a BG Itty Bitty to show for my efforts, I moved on. Rode down a line of deep docks, they were the right depth just no real sign of my quarry. Made a few casts anyway, bait schools were visible on the surface, note to self, maybe I should invest in some small 1/4 oz spinnerbaits? Any who, scanned a few more, the same. So I opted to run Soddy Creek and check it out. Made 2 stops in there, the second one was the best one of the 2. Now that my belly is full with grilled chicken and green beans from Steve's Landing I'm ready to go again. To my last stop, up the creek. I landed 10 on this site, including a green carp in the mix. Several keepers and an equal amount of shorts. Water temp is still in the 80's but just barely. Fish again seem to be relating to the ledge though it only dropped from 5' down to about 16'. The afternoon bite was better than the morning one for me today.
