Sitting here at Amigo's waiting for my lunch I guess I can make out my report. Nothing like going fishing and having Mexican food for lunch...
Launched at Wolfteever about 7:30. I ran into the Flukmaster himself, Gene Jenson at the dock, he's as normal as the rest of us, he said "l had to come back to get my sunglasses".Water temp was 84°, stained, pleasant breeze this morning. My first choice of stops was occupied, by whom else, yep, Flukmaster... So on to a bluff close by. Couple nibbles that's about it. I ran on up the river to my next spot and proceed to get my "fish on". They were laying on the bottom in 24-26 fow. After I hauled in 5-6 the bite all but stopped, I knew they were still there I could see the on the bottom under the shad I was seeing as well. Scratching my head, looking through my boxes of offerings I decided to stick some crappie nibbles on my offering that I had caught the others on, 1/24 head BG Blue Chrome baby shad. And that's all it took. I had to move over about 10-15 feet from the cover I was fishing. To find them again. Lesson learned, if the bite slows doesn't mean they have left the cover completely they may have just moved away from where you were. The last photo is my virtual livewell. The fish were deep, so I snapped some pics and sent them back to the depths so they would survive being brought up to the surface.
