    Default Mixed bag today. 72219

Biofisher and I launched the boat before daylight this morning and fished for 4 hrs. The south wind was much stronger than the 3 mph that was predicted and the overcast skies made for a very pleasant trip. 28 drops of rain about 3 hours into our trip had us reaching for rain suits, but stopped before we could get them out of our storage box.

The fishing was fair as we caught a mixed bag of crappie, yellow perch, catfish, spotted bass, Bluegill and the smallest yellow bass or Rockfish that I have ever caught, it takes great skill to catch a fish this small. Lolol.

Baby Shad, Slab Slayers, Minnow Mind’Rs, Swim’Rs and Itty Bitty SS all caught fish. I had an inspiration to use the drop shot technique with the Itty Bitty lure and it produced my biggest fish and also most numbers caught. Gary had a great morning fishing with a Mo-Glo Blue Ghost. In addition to catching the big Blue catfish, he had another big fish on for a minute or more that he couldn’t do anything with. It pulled off so I enforced one of my pet boat rules. If a big fish pulls off before we can see it to ascertain it’s species, then it must be counted as a Drum. Lolol.

Water flow was 13,000 increasing to 19,000 for an hour and then to 26,000 cfs by the time we stopped at ten am. Surface temp was 85.2 and water was clear.

Purty yellow perch right there. FINE EATING. Cousins with the toothy-critters. Been threatening to do a night trip in the tailwaters to see if I could conjure up some summertime toothy's, not sure its gonna happen anytime soon.

Nice catch, we had monsoons up here today, major rain showers and more to come. All this water will be down your way soon. Looks like Catfish fillets in the bag, not a fan of the Slimers but the meat sure does look nice.

Stan, I won’t eat catfish unless I clean it. This blue cat was delicious.

Good Job fellas! Thought I would get to get in an trip this weekend, but apparently they need me to work Friday... I'll get there though...
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

    Isn't that a yellow bass???

Sent from my VS995 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can generally count on Paul's vote.
