DK - Thanks for the trip! I had a great time. Let's do it again soon. I think my best catch of the day was the one that tried to get away but ended up in the net anyway.

Jay Wylie and I had hoped that the crappie would be very active this morning, but they were only so-so. We went offshore and stopped on an under water point and set the spot lock on the Terrova. We were fishing with Bobby Garland jigs on 3/32 oz heads and the first 3 fish were White bass and got bigger with each catch.
Then the Largemouth bass and Spotted bass started to play. I saw a bass with his tail at the surface of the water in over 40 feet of water and I shot my Silverfish right to him and he nailed the jig immediately. 3 lbs of fury on 4 pound test line is exciting. Still the crappie were a no-show. We had to move about 50 yards or so to get into the crappie.
Jay and I moved around to 3 or 4 more spots before quitting at 9:30ish.
We ended up with 9 crappie, 5 bass and 3 White bass.
Current flow was 20,500 for the first hour then increased to 26,500 the rest of the time that we fished. The cool nights and rain lowered the surface temp to 82.6. Color didn’t matter to the fish. Cicada MM, Blue Ice and Blue Ghost SS, Silverfish and Lightning Bug MM were what I caught fish on and Jay used Blue Ice Baby Shads.
Going to teach a new friend from a Kentucky in the morning. Maybe more teaching than actual fishing. Depends on what he wants me to show him. I have no secrets. Big smile.

Way to go!
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6drumking thanked you for this post

Getting out there early is key this time of year, I really enjoy the sunrise photos from your trips. I am catching more White Bass now that the water is reaching the 90 degree mark. They must be looking for the same meals as the deep Crappie.
