Gary Fomby and I were like the SS MINNOW this morning with our three hour tour of the mid portion of Chickamauga reservoir. We were faced with water a little above summer level, cold front conditions after yesterday’s late storms which lowered the surface temp to 78.8 and to top that off, TVA was spilling water over the gates.

But with correct boat positioning and a whole lot of luck, we were able to catch a good number of quality keepers for Gary. We kept 13 for his freezer and released 10 keepers that were less than 11” long.

Fish were caught on BG Minnow Mind’Rs, Baby Shads, and Slab Slayers. Colors that worked were Mo Glo Green Hornet, Silverfish, Stinkbug, Roly Poly, and Blue Ice. I can’t remember if there was another color that we fished or not.

Wind got up from southeast so since we had a very good creel for Gary, we opted to put the boat back on the trailer and go get breakfast. Lolol.
