Wife and I got out Saturday morning to get some crappie for the freezer. We were on the water about 6:30 am, we went to mid/upper lake and put the cranks out. Trolling in 14 fow following the river contour at 1.4 mph we made our first pass through a section that showed fish. The first run we came up empty, turned around and bumped the speed up to 1.6 mph and picked up our first one/keeper on the deep side of the boat so at the end of the run I went back staying in 18 fow and we picked up a couple more, both were 13" plus. We did the same track about 8 more times before the jet skis started coming out so we wrapped it up around 11;00 with 12 nice sized crappie. The smallest was 12" and had 2 over 14". We didn't set the world on fire but we had quality over quantity. Water temperature was right at 80 degrees, we trolled a track about 150/200 yards long to get the 12 keepers, we also caught 3 cats and a couple hybrid also. The Pico pink spatter and the mud bug were the top crank colors. Arkie pink with black stripe also caught a couple as well.

Have a great day,

Ray and Audrey
