No danger of wearing out your welcome. Always a good read. I appreciate your insight.
I wasn’t going to post today because I didn’t want to wear out my welcome on this great forum, but I’ll make this short and sweet.
Phil had 8:30 appointments so we started before daylight and quit just after 8. It was a slow morning as only 4 crappie were caught, but I had another tarp size, 14.25” Black crappie. Phil caught a nice 12” and I had two more 10.5” fish. Of course, I released the tarp.
Looking back at my fishing record for May, I’ve caught 6 tarp sized crappie and Phil had one this month. Only one was a white crappie though.
6,900 cfs flow rate and bath water warm surface temps.

I see Phil has gotten the summer facial shave going...no hunting for him, except for the crappie! I need to kick him out of my seat for a trip!
Always love the reports DK one day when I retire I’m gonna post just like you, an strive to fish as well as you!

That first one is a hog. I keep scaring the 14in mark but have caught at least a dozen 13.xx last month. In June up here the bigger ones tend to suspend out deep, away from the brush. Pulling cranks or pushing jigs is about the only way to target them. Me, I prefer the thump of the single pole in the summer, way too much fun. Keep up the reports, we do like them.
