My dad and I lucked up on some fish last tuesday. We ended up keeping 42 good fish. It was a good thing too since my motor decided to short out and catch on fire right after we set the poles out. It didn't cause too much damage but it still stinks having to wait for the parts to come it and fix it now.

Cracker -Bones -Bails-West Tennessee...Are any of you going to be fishing
the foot next week ? We need all the help we can get ..I'd rather spend six days fishing, rather than looking for them for 3 days and fishing 3 days.:D
Like David said earlier ,come on over to Grays for breakfast or supper If any of you have coordinates and don't want to advertise them , send me a PM.
    Thanks in advance........................................... .............Norm

Pretty much wore em out saturday. But I wont be able to make it back till Friday at the earliest. Your guess is as good as anyone else is right now probably. I havent heard the first word since saturday, and the weather hasnt been good last few days anyway.

Good news is the temps have risen and you should be able to find fish this weekend. I figure the usual places like swan basin, bell stumps, moultrie fields, etc will be good places to try. I will post friday night if I go and give an update on a few more places. You should be able to catch some fish.

I know a few good trees to jig if thats what your into also.

OK. A few places I have fished that have produced well for me in the past. I have not fished trees this year, but have fished the pads.

There are lilly pads on the west side of buzzard slough I fished last week with moderate success. Tom Johnson area I know to have produced well last week also.

Trees that are good places to try. Anywhere from Fehringer bar up to tri timber have produced for me.

North of palestine timber has also done well for me. I have caught slabs from Simon pocket to blackjack pocket. Lots of trees in that area for sure.

Green cypress area, lost pond north to walnut gap are also good places.

And the main lake, I have caught fish in magic hole trees. Last year I caught several slabs in those trees and also trolled out and around them in about 4-5ft of water and did well. This was middle of may for about 2 days.

I have caught good fish in all of these places. But i love to troll, and if the wind will let me, and there are places that are producing I will troll.

Early in the moring is when I have had the most luck in the pads and trees. As the day heats up I usually troll out around thsoe areas if its possible.

As for trolling, it all depends on the wind. I do reccomend trolling jigs this time of year. We won our tournament this past weekend trolling jigs tipped with a minnow in 5-6ft of water and outfished everyone easily. Any area in 4-7ft of water that is wind protected should produce some fish. The first 2 hours of any day should net you the bigger females as they move in to lay eggs., if they are spawning that day.

Far as I know the gill are hitting good. I caught 2 over 1lb trolling for crappie. Biggest I have ever seen. I almost never fish for bream, but Im thinking about it this year some.

I have no idea yet where im gonna troll this weekend. But I have some ideas.

Full moon the 2nd, Saturady through saturday should be a heck of a week for crappie though.

    Default Perch Jerking!

    WestTennCrappie,
Thank you for the information on the lake. I'll have to give a couple of those spots a try when I get down there, and find where the heck they are on the map. Sounds like we will be doing a lot of boat driving to get to some of those places on account of where we are staying. I don't have the best boat to be traveling all over the place there.......(Bass Boat)...lol I have to idle everywhere except the ditches. I hope the full moon will bring us some lucking fishing that week as well. If you see a big Red Astro out there stop by and say hello ok.
Take us up on our offer some morning if you are in the area. Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Pancakes, Etc.....be nice to get out on the water with a full belly....lol
Hope you guys are tearing them up.......later

    David
