What tournament was it? Was there very many boats in it? How many fish did you have to weigh? I may have fished it had I known about it. We have one next Saturday at Wappapello, usually a good turn out and payback.

Fioshed the Huish tourney. My father works there. Not alot of boats in it this year. About 5-10 less than usual. Of course not alot of money to be won, but we grilled out, and got the opportunity to beat the guys who win it every year. First year I fished in it, my dad either fished with someone else or didnt fish at all.

We had fun, caught twice the fish everyone else caught. I figure we did about as good as anybody on the lake. Caught alot of fish at 1lb, or 1lb 1oz. 1 fish at 1 3/4. That was the only big one. The rest were nice though.

It should really pick up soon I guess. I wont be able to make it back till friday maybe. Everyone we talked to this week said it was just the toughest its been in a long time. Guess the only ones catching fish are thsoe that know the lake well. Gotta fish those pads early, or find em early, cause they have been turning off in the middle of the day.

Cracker howd you do this weekend???

I think I had 16 or 17 it was long time between them. I had a 1'-10oz and two that went 1.5oz and 3 go a pound rest were 1/2 pounders. A guy at the ramp weighed them for me. Was a super day as far as the weather went.

    And a little Rant......
And for the IDIOT out on the lake and he knows who he is, next time I'm chunking the boat paddle or someting at you. You drive a boat at half throtle 10 foot from the end of my poles and 10 foot is a generous estimate. Drive behind me next time.

Tell me about it. I had about 3 do the same thing to us. I just pray every time that they hang a helluva stump and rip the transom right off the boat.

I told ya they were slow. But it should be on like a neck bone this week.

Early in the moring is when we caught our fish. And I tell ya, we caught alot of females early in shallow water. Which tells me they were probably dropping eggs. Spawn should be in full swing very soon.

Let me know if you get out any this week

    Default Hello all Fishermen

This is the first time for me to post here on the message board. I have a friend that talks to Cracker68 a lot about Crappie fishing at Reelfoot lake. A bunch of us from Indiana come down every year for some good fishing at your lake and have a blast. Wish we had a fishing paridise like Reelfoot up here.
Cracker68 ...Norman says hello and looks forward to meeting you next week while we are down there. I hope the Crappie on on the beds by then and we catch some really big ones!
We will be staying at Grey's Camp for a whole week you guys come over and get some good grub in the evenings! We know how to fish and how to eat!

I will be more than happy to post some fishing reports on here next week during our visit there.
Good Luck on the Tournament. When is the tournament going to take place?

    WestTennCrappie,
Thanks for the heads up! We have been staying at this camp ground for over 40 years down there. It is where we stay every year, we all have boats and fish just about everywhere while we are there. Buzzard Slew, Burnt Woods, Big Starve Pond, Etc. But we have never fish the big side of the lake over by Blue Bank is that the better place to go during this time of season?

NDChancey who gets on here has been talking to Cracker68 for while now and hopefully he will have some scoop for us while we are down there.
We will be arriving on the 28 and leave on the 5th of May surely we will have them figured out after that amount of time.
We will be having a big fish fry on Thursday next week and all are welcome to come. There will be about 20 of us coming down this weekend. We do it once every year towards the end of April or 1st of May.

Good Luck and Be Safe Out There - God Bless

DavidK1957... Then you should know Pete if you've been to Grey's. I need to get up that way and see him. Poke him in the side and see if he jumps.

Hope it picks up, Last Monday was good but it really stunk after that.
