East Tennessee man gets his world record fish | wbir.com
Not sure if this link will work but our local news station featured the mount of the new world Record Crappie. If it doesn’t work just go to WBIR.com and search for World Record Crappie. It was featured yesterday on the early news cast. Congratulations once again!!

Great fish, thanks for the video! Unreal and from TN.
Great fish and I’d be proud of it, but there’s something that’s bothered me about this fish since the day it was caught. It was caught in a pond. To me pond fish shouldn’t count for records. I have two ponds behind my house. One is only 50x50 but it’s 20’ deep in the middle. Needed some dirt for a terrace and water for cows. What’s to stop me from putting a few big females in there and pour the minnows to them? I’m not saying that’s what happened here but lake or river fish (wild fish)would have a harder time getting that size. To me it’s almost the same as going on a high fence hunt. I’m in the minority on this but I just think it cheapens the record.

Super fish and Jam seems like a really nice guy. Glad he caught it.
tcounty, I do agree with much of what you said. To me it's the similar to high fence deer, except for the ease of genetic improvements. There is obviously something very special about the pond where that fish was caught, since it isn't the only one that size that Jam caught from that pond. Likely a combination of great genetics and great food supply. I'm not taking anything away from the fish or the fisherman. It is a tremendous fish that any of us would likely be proud as punch to catch. I know I would, but I would like to see two sets of records kept. One for public waters, one for private.

I watched this newscast yesterday, and that mount is amazing! I’m thrilled for Jam!

Awesome fish! And a great mount! Way to go Jam!
Beautiful mount for a beautiful fish. I don’t care where it came from a record is a record. Awesome Jam!!
What a hog. Awesome work.....
