Fishing with one of the best.

I love to take new people who want to know how to improve their fish catching. We didn’t have the best of days catching wise, but it was a teaching day of looking at various structures and how to fish them.
Jay said that he wasn’t very good at dock shooting, so I took him to a dock that usually will yield a few fish. There was a lot more current flowing under and through this dock in order for it to be ideal, but we managed several fish from that dock. A couple of 13.25” fish on back to back casts was the highlight for me. Jay and I doubled on that dock once.
We looked at bluffs but way too much current to fish them with any success. I showed him another prime deep water spot and we saw a good bunch of fish on the graph, but they were haven’t nothing to do with us.
We searched a couple of roadbeds and managed 4 fish off the roadbeds. The weather was a little chilly, but we were dressed for it and with the wind not blowing at all, we couldn’t ask for better conditions to fish in.
Thanks, Jay for letting me ride around with you in search of crappie. I hope that you were able to glean a few tips and I know that a person can’t learn it all in one trip, so as many trips as you want or need, I am willing to be teacher. All the places that I showed you today are hot spots at one time or another. But, I don’t have one spot that always has biting crappie on it regardless of season. I don’t believe such a place exists. Grin.

...was sitting behind my desk today at work, looking out the window of my office, thinking how I'd like to be on the water or in the tree-stand today. Once again, you have proven that I was correct! Keep the good reports/pictures coming, DK...until I get this building project done and get another boat bought, gonna have to do my fishing through your reports and pictures!!
One day, we will have to hook-up and chase some toothy-critters in the tailwaters

I've been reading your posts and appreciate that you share so much, I'm just retired and learning crappie fishing specifically to pass on to my grandchildren. Doing fair so far thanks to this board, your posts and Youtube.
If you have an Iphone using the portrait mode blurs the background to the point it's nearly unrecognizable.
Thanks for all your posts!
