Default Heading for Watts Bar Oct 20th-27th

Staying at Arrowhead. Its been exactly 10 years since we were there (2008). We have been unable to take a weeks vacation since then. Mom died in June at 102 years old and now we can go fishing again. Zenna said when this is over can we go back to Watts Bar. So look out crappie, the minnow dippers are coming. lol. I know CP will appreciate that minnow dippers plug. lol. Hey CP we still have that big picture of you & Paul at the weigh in. Those were the days.

Looks like it's going to be a little cool next week 40s at night and 60s tops. I had hoped it would be a little warmer when I scheduled. Taking our winter clothes and praying for sunshine.

We will post results when we get back. If we catch any. lol

Hey 'ol buddy, Ms Zenna .... gonna give the old WB another go, I see !!

Hope you do better than my buddies & I did this week. Water temps were 72-74deg when we were there (Mon-Wed).

Well, sadly the old girl ain't what she used to be 10-15yrs ago. At least it hasn't been for us in the last several years. Size is fine, in fact it's great .... it's just the numbers that seemed to have faded off quite a bit. Think I heard/read somewhere that the TWRA said the Crappie spawns over the last several years had been poor to non-existent.

Hopefully some cooler weather will have come in & dropped the water temps for ya'll ... then you might have a chance. Lake is plum full of schools of small Shad, main lake & back in the creeks. We marked pods of Shad from surface to 20+ft deep, but never found any schools of fish amongst'em. Maybe with cooler temps moving in, the Crappie will come out of their Summer hideouts and start looking for some ambush points to set up in.

    Hope ya'll get into'em !! Have a safe trip !!
