    Default Reelfoot Water Levels

The Mississippi won’’t back up in Reelfoot, takes rain to raise the water level.

Wasn't sure if any creeks or such fed the lake. We have backwater right now just up the Ohio River from the big rains in Iowa, MO, and IL. Figured all that water would be raising the Mississippi River also.
Thank you for your response Grumpy.

River has crested and going to be dropping fast, an inch or more is forecast for the weekend but it won’t affect Reelfoot much more than a couple of inches.

Cooler weather is forecast so maybe the crappie will get active. Lots of stumps will be showing but hundreds more just under the water. I recommend not going much faster than idle speed and be prepared for carp to jump all around and at least 1 or 2 in the boat.

I would guess upper 70’s. More rain the better it should be. Looks like you are going to have a great weekend!
