Welcome to the Board! I have never fished this lake but on Google Earth it looks interesting. This time of year I would start deep, closest to the dam area, target deep lay-downs with a light jig and look for schooling bait. When it cools off those longer creek arms should hold fish. Hope you catch a pile there then report back!!

An interesting kayak trip/float might be the Collins River in McMinnville....there is a launch at the VFW off of 70S as you come into McM from
Sparta. I don't know about the crappie...but it has smallies and largemouth...and nice red eyes. You could go up to the Shellsford area and
float down to the VFW if you want a longer trip. I have fished Meadow Lake from the bank....without any great results...but there were a few
good looking spots that you could get to with a kayak. Good luck ! Have you tried the lake at Fall Creek Falls Park? It has some nice crappie.
