Great pics and report, thanks for sharing.
Dr Phil and I had a very good morning fishing for crappie. We landed 24 keepers and a few shorts. Bonus fish were a couple of Spotted bass. The bite was hot just after daylight and we had a pretty good bite until we stopped fishing just after ten o’clock.
Lures that were successful were BG slab slayer in Lights Out, Gumdrop and BG Itty Bitty Black Cricket. Strike King Chartreuse Flash, Lime A Nator. No current to speak of and wind was shifting directions from SW to West. When the chiggers and destroyers started rolling out at ten, we decided to scout a few minutes before putting the boat back on the trailer.
Vertical structure, and brush piles were where we found the fish today and about 10 deep early and 15 feet deep after the sun got up overhead.
I included a pic of little Bentley admiring a nice Bluegill that I caught in a pond yesterday evening.
BassERT thanked you for this post
That is a good day for this time of year. If they were in 10-15 ft water I would have to think they were actively feeding on Shad/ bait fish. I have not caught anything shallower than 20ft since May. Good catch.
