Chickamauga Night Stalk #2 7/15-16/18
I started out at about 5 am on Sunday morning. Get to the launch and go to fire up the boat to pull her off the trailer and WHAT? no crankey? There I sit, what's up with that? She ran fine a couple days ago... So as I sit there puzzling my puzzler. I thought, check the kill switch and lo and behold it just came apart in my hand in about 3 different pieces. So back to the house I go and look into the issue. I took it apart and just pulled the grounding jumper off the switch and she fired right off like usual. Mind you, this ol Johnson fires up with about 3 turns of the crank, has always started very well. So I fired up Ebay... Switch ordered and will be here Friday... By this time I'm just ready for a nap and try it again later this evening. Fast forward to 3 am Monday...
Well again it's 3 am and I'm bored out of my marshmallow. So I decide to hook up the ol sled and head out. Busted kill switch and all... There was a slight breeze which made it all the more comfortable. Water still a steam bath at 84*. So I troll on out to the channel and start scanning. I run over my new found spot and decide to drop a couple minners down. Bite was slow and the fish were small, considering my last fish from this spot were goodern's, even though I was using medium minners. Caught about 5 crappie, no keepers, one 2# bass and another 1.5# up on the flat in about 20' fow on the bottom, on the spot. The crappie were still over 30' fow about 18' down. I don't wander far from the boat launch at night with not another boat in sight. And fishing by my onzie... Trolled around the area and found no other fish that wanted to play. About 6:30 am I packed it up and headed home, I had to work tonight so sleep was on the agenda. Maybe I will come up with a better plan for my next adverture...
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
