    Default Catching Crappie offshore 7/07/18

Dr Phil and I got out about 6:30 and decided to see if crappie had made their way to the offshore spots and they were on a few of the spots. We caught 20 keepers with He biggest one at 13.75” and most in the 12” size. I think that 5 were 11”.

The fish were all between 18-25 feet deep and fell for Bobby Garland Slab Slayers in the Lights Out color and the Minnow Minder Cicada color. We didn’t try any other colors. The fish were on stumps on a drop offs along the main river channel. The last 5 keepers came on deep brush.

i also caught 2 Largemouth bass and Phil caught the only slimer, a 2 pound channel catfish. We had good current flow in the river and it was cloudy most of the time and a light South wind. The crappie and one Largemouth went home with us for dinner.
